Meet Kate

Kate Roberts

Here at Content Callout, we spend a lot of time telling you a variety of tips and tricks to make your content marketing and social media stand out. But we thought we’d take a second to introduce some of the team behind-the-scenes who keep everything running.

Meet our social media specialist, Kate Roberts! Kate is the one who helps our clients post all their content and engage with their audience. She’s also our resident athlete and bad-ass and our only team member in BC.

Guilty pleasure – books, music, etc.
I love super nerdy fantasy books like The Witcher series, or Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time series. I’m also a HUGE Diplo fan (don’t tell anyone).

What are your favorite podcasts you’re listening to?
I’m currently loving Switched on Pop. It’s a witty and accessible analysis of Top 40 hits that somehow makes you fall in love with songs you didn’t even think you liked.

Who inspires you?
This is a tough one, because I’m inspired by so many people! My friends are high on the list. I have a pretty special group of strong women around me—artists, athletes, writers, entrepreneurs, health care professionals.

Currently, I’m inspired by @backpackbren, who recently broke her neck, but is still getting out for hikes. That would be a big day for an average city dweller. ALL WHILE IN HER HALO! It’s really inspiring to see. #noexcuses.

What’s your favorite pop icon?
Can I say Diplo? Just kidding. I’m a big fan of women who are dominating the music industry: Rihanna, Cardi B, and Lizzo stand out to me.

What’s your favorite movie?
A few movies I can watch over-and-over again are Point Break, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, The Fast and the Furious, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and Clueless.

What’s your favorite local pub, wherever you are?
The Village Idiot, hands down.

What’s your favorite travel destination?
I really love New Zealand and need to get back there someday soon for some biking. The people are friendly and funny, and the outdoor culture is very similar to here in BC. But honestly, the greatest thing about living in a mountain town is home IS my favorite travel destination.

What’s your favorite local coffee shop?
Dose has the best coffee and vibes in Revelstoke. Don’t @ me.

What’s your favorite retail shop?
Support your local skate, snow, and bike shops! Society Snow & Skate, Rude Boys/Girls, and Skookum is where I spend most (or more) of my retail budget.

Favorite creative account on Instagram
My Instagram is heavy on the jock spectrum. I love following athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. Revelstoke’s hometown hero Casey Brown has a fantastic Instagram presence. Follow @casey_brown_ for inspiring, bad-ass, and often funny content.

Any other local shout-outs you want to give
Most of the cool things that make Revelstoke special are run by volunteers, so a major shout out to @bikerevelstoke, @stokefm, and @snowboardclub.revelstoke. I’m so grateful to live in an active and community-minded town.

We’ll be doing a bunch of staff features this month. We’re looking forward to everyone getting to know the Content Callout team more!
